My passport is almost 9 years old. That's old enough so it actually says I should make a photocopy of it. It's printed in the "tips for travelers" on page 6. "Make two photocopies of your passport identification page. ... This will facilitate replacement if your passport is lost or stolen." The new photocopier at work has a sticker advising users that it is illegal to copy currency, copyrighted material, [various other things], and passports. Oh, really?
