being mighty with the PT office
Apr. 23rd, 2007 04:06 pmI phoned the office where I had physical therapy on Friday. It had to be by phone (or in person), and it had to be today, because otherwise they would expect me for an appointment early Tuesday morning. I told the clerk who answered the phone that I'd had PT on Friday, that it had gone very badly, and that I needed to change my follow-up appointments.
"You want to see another therapist for your follow-up visits?"
"That's right. I also need to change the schedule to give me more time to recover."
"Oh. Um...just a minute, you'd better talk to the manager about this."
The manager was very polite, and asked what had gone wrong with my initial appointment. I told her, and she set up several appointments for me to see another PT. The first one is Wednesday, day after tomorrow, at 4:30. Are any local people available then to help? (It's in Cambridge, near Harvard Square, and I'd be happy to take you out to dinner afterwards.) I'm asking for help enforcing boundaries, not for a ride.
