breaking my Palm
Feb. 10th, 2008 01:17 pmThursday evening, I fell down some icy steps. I took some skin off my knuckles and aggravated my hand and shoulder problems, but I expect all that to heal. I also crunched my backpack between my ribs and the steps, which wasn't any good for the Palm Pilot in the backpack. I didn't try to use it for a few days, what with being busy and not on good terms with my hands.
When I try to turn it on, it does *something*, but it does not seem to be anything useful. I can't get to either the startup menu, or where I left off in playing audio files. Most of the screen looks very light gray. The upper left corner looks dark gray, with crazing (only when I don't try to power it on, it doesn't look like the screen or the case around it is cracked at all.) Between that corner and the light gray part, there's a thin line of rainbow color, which is really weird because I didn't think the device could show colors. It doesn't seem to respond to the reset button one pokes with a pin.
Do any of you know if this sort of damage is repairable?
