It is possible to slice off the tip of one's finger with a safety razor, for conservative definitions of "tip" and "safety." I could have lived a full and happy life without knowing this.

ETA: It's my left hand. I am still badly freaked out, but less so than I was a few hours ago. Now I can recognize that this kind of cut cannot be stitched (I really should have seen that a few hours ago...it would have saved a fair amount of trouble.) I have a fresh tetanus booster, a fairly elaborate compression bandage, and more complicated emotional responses than I can express wirh my current ability to type.
