full faith and credit
Jun. 9th, 2008 06:37 amOne of the official IT policies I'm supposed to follow at work is that all information learned online is to be regarded as unreliable until confirmed by other sources. It's not that all information anywhere is to be regarded as unreliable until confirmed by other sources. "[social noise and ID]... I'm calling to confirm the price quote for repairs you sent me in email this morning." With my hearing, I'm used to having that need for confirmation go the opposite direction.
The weirdest thing is that my local office does not write its own IT policies. All the IT management is done from headquarters, 3 time zones away. Guess how we communicate with them?
