Does anyone have suggestions for cleaning linoleum? Mine always feels sticky underfoot. I don't know if it's stickier in hot weather, or if it bothers me more when I'm more likely to be walking on it with bare feet. Removing the linoleum is not an option that would go over well with my landlord, but the stickiness is really getting to me. I've tried dilute Simple Green, dilute dish detergent, dilute vinegar...even dilute!dilute!dilute! I would particularly appreciate techniques that did not substitute lingering smells for the lingering stickiness.

1. I do not have celiac disease. I do not have a recognizable parasitic infestation. I just have an unhappy digestive system.
2. This summer, I've become much more careful about avoiding lactose. (I used to have small amounts of ice cream or butter when I was feeling well, or when it was convenient, or when I had the opportunity to have something really yummy. I stopped doing that this spring. About a month ago, I also stopped eating things like candy or pastry where I couldn't be certain it was pareve. I also stopped using homeopathic meds with lactose.) It helps enough that I wonder if some of my remaining problems might be reactions to hidden lactose.
3. When I don't take Dramamine, I tend to get motion-sick on rides that last more than 15 minutes. When I *do* take Dramamine, I get sick (in another way) hours later. I just figured out that the pills have lactose as an "inactive ingredient." These days, it does not appear to be inactive enough. Any suggestions? I can find Benadryl with no lactose, and Benadryl is a fine antihistamine I've found useful against mild motion-sickness. I have no idea why the motion-sickness is so much worse these days, but it is, and Benadryl no longer does much for me.
4. My anti-seizure meds also contain lactose. Maybe I'm just doomed.
5. Does anyone know if clarified butter (ghee) contains lactose? Or is the lactose taken out with the solids? I'm going to an Ethiopian restaurant tomorrow, and the menu they have online is not perfectly clear about which dishes are cooked in ghee and which in oil. (They're great about indicating spiciness levels.) Is this something I need to worry about, or is it safe to let slide? I know unclarified butter has enough lactose in it for me to react to.
