streets of Philadelphia

I need to be in Philadelphia for a few days next month. I have the name of the hotel where the event is being held. It's very near the Convention Center, perhaps part of it. If I travel by Greyhound or Amtrak, is the station nearby? (Are they the same stations?) The hotel gives directions from the airport and the interstate, but I was hoping to use other modes of travel. Also, while I expect the convention center hotel is very nice, I'd be happy to walk a block or so to stay in an almost-as-nice one...if I knew where it was. Any pointers to hotels or small-scale maps?
