Lowell's Moving Castle
Nov. 15th, 2005 11:56 pmThe UMass-Lowell chapter of the Society of Plastics Engineers has public seminars, and I'd like to attend the one they're having tomorrow (on Polymers from Sustainable Resources, at 4:30.) My company approves of people in my department going to such things, so there wouldn't be a problem with leaving work at 4:00, despite the spectacular puddles of the current crisis. (Which I don't know how to really fix before Friday's FedEx delivery. But still.) If this were the only driving I had to do this week, I'd just do it myself. It would be uncomfortable, it would risk a pain flare, I'd prefer to get a ride if I could...but if I wasn't confident about a ride there and a ride home, I'd just drive myself.
This week, I have driving errands Tuesday and Thursday. And what I'm doing at work looks to be a strain on my hands and head. This kind of stress might be marginally tolerable at some levels, but it wears down my ability to cope in a cumulative way. I put out the call at work, asking if anyone else wanted to go to this seminar, if anyone could give me a ride. No answer. *fret* Maybe I should just not go. *fret* But I hate always giving up and just not doing stuff because I'm such a coward.
Are any of you interested in a seminar on Polymers from Sustainable Resources? It's open to the public.
