news of the day
Dec. 2nd, 2006 09:33 pmI survived the exam. I'm not speculating about anything beyond that.
<lj user="webbob" is a hero of the revolution, despite ringing my doorbell at 6:50 this morning when I had woken up at 6:45. That's actually part of the reason WHY he's a hero of the revolution. The alarms at 5:45 and 6:00 were remarkably inadequate. But I made it to the exam on time. And I had my meds with me, managing to avoid some of my previous rushing-out-the-door mistakes. I made it through the exam, and it was not as bad as such a thing might convceivably have been. (Though my standards for "as bad as it can get" are pretty bad, and I have no idea how good a score is needed to pass this exam.) I had divided my big binder of reference material into 4 small binders, and the last one included things like statistical data tables, and the index. That was where I put the rather idiosyncratic glossary I've been maintaining in my last month of study. Unfortunately, I forgot it. I didn't just forget to print out the glossary - I left the whole last binder at home next to my computer. There were about 30 questions that were more more frantic than they needed to be. Some of them were solvable with a little more effort, without the documents. Some were solvable with a lot more effort, and I didn't have time. There was sunshine this afternoon. And warmth. And completely unexpected residual energy. I used it up at the Decordova Sculpture Park. One at a time, however long it takes, I want to bring the people I love to this place. We had an hour or so of whimsy http://www.decordova.org/decordova/sculp_park/actualsizeartworks.htm and curiosity, and a few moments of real awe (including at http://www.decordova.org/decordova/sculp_park/dine.html), and I am very glad to have gone.
