adrian_turtleOne of my colleagues had an aloe plant that was overflowing its pot, so she cut it back and rooted the cuttings in other pots, which she generously offered to the rest of us who work in the lab. Aloe gel has been good for me over the years, though I've never used the fresh stuff. With my lifestyle and my level of coordination, it seemed like a very good idea to have a renewable supply around the place.
I managed to get the plant home without dropping it or freezing it or anything else drastically untoward. And it doesn't appear to be suffering from being forgotten about over the weekend, in the office. I know it grows in dry climates, so it should be happy with infrequent watering. But I'm concerned at how the top of the root bundle seems exposed, as if the soil subsided. Is this ok, or should I get more topsoil?
