The new labcoats are reasonably water-resistant. I've had raincoats that were less water-resistant. I've tested the labcoats rather spectacularly in this direction, spilling gallons of water over myself in the course of attempting to fix the lab plumbing. I suppose that's just messy, not really spectacular. What happened this afternoon was spectacular. Spectacularly magenta.

As it happens, pigment does not flow across the surface of the coat like water. It soaks right through in seconds. I had the foresight to wear a purple shirt today, knowing I was going to be working with the magenta pigment. Unfortunately, I managed to spatter it with bleach before the magenta incident.
