I felt exactly the same way, hearing them cheer for him. If he has a best friend who is a surgeon I'm going to fall apart long before anybody sets up as an independent contractor smuggling PPE.

Yes, I listened to the mass.gov press conference [YouTube link] on Friday. (Additional details about why MA had to resort to this available over at siderea's journal; it's enraging, though Sen. Warren's letter to FEMA about it is a treat.)

I'm so, so glad they were able to get this airlift through, and I'm damn proud that we're sending a portion of the masks to NYC even in our own present 'we can't possibly get enough masks to cover our needs' crisis. Every now and then I am reminded that I live in the state that sent help for the 1917 Halifax Explosion and many, many other humanitarian crises since then.
